AdSense Alternatives (contextual ads)

The contextual ad space is hotting up. AdSense are up against some worthy competitors. Soon YPN (Yahoo! Publisher Network) will be open to everyone. MSN aren’t too far away from releasing their offering either.

Right NOW, there are already two very competent programs available to anyone with a website…

PeakClick with a 70% Payout

The latest contextual advertising player to hit the seen is PeakClick. They promise HIGH payouts (every two weeks). You get the option of getting paid in USD or Euros (which is great for us Europeans). They also have a VERY advanced reporting and statistics system.

Chitika eMiniMalls
Chitika is another ad program that has recently been causing a buzz in the industry. Their ad units are superb looking. They include a little picture of the product, have a strong text ad (like AdSense), but also include a “Best Deals” tab and a “Search” tab.

If you’ve never seen their ads before, it’s worth taking a look. You’re going to love them!

What’s more, if you turn the “contextual targeting” off (which is the default setting), you ARE aloud to use it alongside AdSense… or even the upcoming YPN (Yahoo! Publisher Network).

I’m going to be trying out Chitika on this blog soon.
